Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday

Good morning! I hope everyone is keeping safe and warm – it’s been so cold in Northop Hall – very frosty but no snow. I think we’ve got off lightly compared to some areas. Anyway, moving on – I’ve got a birthday card to share today. This one is for my niece who will be 22 years old tomorrow. I opted for cool aquas, seemed right for a winter birthday.

I made a note card to US A2 size (4¼” x 5½”) using dark teal card. I cut a piece of white card 4¼” x 5½” pit the Stitched Polka Dot Card Front on it and ran it through my die cutter. This gives a fun pattern on the card. I used a scallop edge die to cut out a piece of this card. I added colour to the card – giving a nice dark edge and emphasising the stitched circle pattern. I adhered the panel to the front of the note card. I used Just a Number die to cut out the birthday greeting – the shadow in dark teal and the words in silver textured mirri card from my stash. Prior to adding the greeting to the front of the card, I spritzed with a shimmer spray and then glued on the greeting.

Inside the card, I cut a piece of white card slightly smaller than the note card. I inked the edges of the panel to match the front of the card. I used my stamp positioner to stamp a fun balloon birthday greeting, removed it and coloured the balloons with Copic markers. I put the panel back in the stamp positioner and restamped with dark black ink and added a small greeting below it. I adhered the panel to the note card and finished off by adding a light dusting of shimmer to the balloons.

Fortunately, I don’t have to post this card to Georgia – her parents are coming to our place tomorrow for an early Christmas celebration, so I’ll give them Georgia’s card and present.

That’s all from me today – see you again soon.

Deborah, x
