Happy Christmas

Happy Christmas

Good morning! I've been making Christmas cards, and no, it's never too early to make a start on your cards for Christmas. I've used the large snowflake from Big & Bold - Winter Wishes Snowflake from Colorado Craft Company.

I stamped the large snowflake and greeting in Versamark and heat embossed with detail white powder. I blended yellow, green and blue inks to create the ombre background, wiped the excess off the embossed images and the snowflake really pops. I added some sparkle to the background with a shimmer spray. I layered the panel on black card and attached it to the cardbase.

Inside I cut a panel of black card for a mat layer and on the white panel I stamped the snowflake in a silver ink, giving a subtle image, and added a greeting using the three inks that I used on the front of the card.  I had such fun with this stamp that I made two more cards. I kept them a bit more clean and simple.

I stamped the snowflake slightly off to the left and added the greeting - so perfect - and heat embossed with silver powder.  On the inside, I stamped the snowflake off to the right in silver powder and used another of the greeting stamps from the set for the message.

My next card is 5" x 7", a nice large card to showcase that stunning snowflake. Once again I stamped it slightly off to the left and used a different stamp for the words. I embossed using a silver sparkle embossing powder. The sentiment didn't show too well so I restamped the words, slightly off to give a shadow effect.

I'm not sure the shadow effect works perfectly, but it does mean I have another card for my Christmas stash. On the inside I stamped the snowflake in the centre and added another greeting.

I'll be using this stamp again soon as it makes a simple and elegant card. As I said, it's not too early to make a start on your stash. Thanks so much for stopping by today. See you next week.
