Love Birds: A Tweet-Heart Card for Your Special Someone!

Love Birds: A Tweet-Heart Card for Your Special Someone!

Hi there, it's Ruby.

I hope you've had a good week since I was last here.

Today I have a sweet little card to share with you, using Altenew's Love Birds set. My initial plan for these birds was for Valentine's Day, but I've found this set way more useful than I thought it would be.

It comes together really quickly too. I made a reel for this card for an Altenew Certified Educator Program video reel hop recently and thought I'd make another one as I hadn't put everything away.

  1. Die-cut a stitched rectangular panel in navy cardstock, and another in a smaller size in pink cardstock.

  2. Stencil the panel. I used Altenew's Leaves and Berries Stencil. I used inks from Altenew's Glacier Mini Ink Cube Set. I used these gorgeous blending brushes from Altenew for the main colour, and then smaller ones for the 'buds'.

  3. Die cut a circle or wreath from navy cardstock. I used a really old one and can't remember who it's by, but this one would be a good substitute. I also think this one from The Greetery would be perfect for any bird set. Another thing on my wish list now, teehee.

  4. Next, stamp a tiny sentiment. I used my 'go-to' Curio: Labels Stamp Set from The Greetery - with the banner from the Curio Divider Details Die Set. I use this set so much. I love the size of the sentiments when I want the image to be the focal point. Cut an extra two card blanks, layer the sentiment up for dimension.

  5. Stamp the Altenew Love Birds on Copic-friendly cardstock, I use Bristol Smooth with Memento Black Ink.

  6. Colour the birds using Artist Markers and die-cut using the coordinating die. I used Glacier Caves and the pinks and greens from the Sunshine Valley set.

  7. Die-cut an extra two card blanks to add to the back of the coloured birds for added dimension.

  8. Die-cut the finished stencil panel, and assemble all layers onto the card base. Attach the circle, add the birds and finally add the sentiment.

I hope you like these sweet little love birds. Our garden has come to life over the past couple of weeks, the sound of the birds is so beautiful, especially in the mornings.

Have a great week!

Ruby :)
