Masculine Birthday Card

Masculine Birthday Card

Hello, welcome to November! Deborah here with you today. I have a clean, layered, masculine style birthday card to share with you today.

I’ve used products from Altenew and Concord & 9th for this card. Concord & 9th have a couple of card front dies in the new release – I have both, but on this card I’ve only used the Stitched Stripe Card Front die.

I cut three pieces of card the same size as the die and ran them through my die cut machine. The die cuts a background pattern into the card – in this case lines of double stitching spaced apart diagonally. I cut out strips of double stitching from green, teal, and blue card, and adhered them diagonally to a sheet of copy paper, creating a new background pattern. I adhered this section to the bottom of an A2 (US size) card. I cut a thin strip of black card and adhered it above the diagonal stitched panel. Next, I stamped the little pennants from C&9 Birthday Stacks at the top of the card and coloured them with Copic markers. I used glitter pens to draw in additional details on the pennants. I finished the front of the card with a large speech bubble which I made using the new C&9 Say Thanks die set. I used the largest bubble and die cut that in white card. To make the shadow, I placed the die on black card, drew round the outside of the die with a pencil, cut it out and layered them together. I created the simple birthday greeting using Altenew’s Birthday Builder stamp set. This set has the phrase ‘happy birthday’ in many different fonts and sizes and it’s so useful.

Inside the card, I cut a mat layer of black card. On the white panel I stamped the birthday pennants again in black ink and used a couple of the sentiments from Birthday Stacks for the greeting.

I have some of the die cut card left over but I ran out of time to make some more cards - perhaps you'll get to see some next week. That’s all from me today. See you again next week.

Deborah, x
