More Birthday Cards

More Birthday Cards

Morning! Do you ever notice how some months have lots more birthdays than others? Well, for me that month is January. There are ten birthdays among my family and friends. So, I spent last weekend making cards for three them!! I guess that I’m not the only one to have lots of coloured card stock in my stash so, this year I plan to make more cards with coloured bases. Here’s the first card:

I used blue card to make an A2 (US size 5½” x 4¼”). I used Happy Rays Turnabout to make the background and then used the sunray die to cut a pattern in the panel. I trimmed the panel to 5” x 3¾” and layered it onto silver holographic card (5¼” x 4”) and adhered it all to the notecard in landscape orientation. I used a circle die to cut a piece of blue card onto which I stamped a simple black birthday greeting and glued it to the card.

For the inside I cut a piece of white card 5¼” x 4” and glued on the left-over piece at the bottom of the panel. I used blue and black ink to stamp a birthday greeting. This card is for our son Ben – who is 27 years old today!!

This card features the Kaleidoscope Turnabout stamp and the matching dies. I made the notecard from pink card and stamped a layered birthday greeting in pink and black at the bottom of the card. After stamping the focal image, I used circle dies from the matching Kaleidoscope die set to cut out sections of the circle. I also cut out several plain white dies. I layered the largest part onto 3 white dies, the next section onto 6 layers of white card and the smallest section onto 9 layers. I used the two smallest circles to cut a circular frame from gold vellum.

For the inside, I cut a mat layer of gold vellum and on the white panel added a birthday greeting in pink and black. This one is for our niece who had her birthday last Wednesday.

This card also features the Kaleidoscope turnabout stamp. I simply stamped the image onto white card and trimmed the panel to 5¼” x 4” and adhered it to the front of a bright green A2 note card. I finished the front by stamping a bold birthday greeting across the centre of the Kaleidoscope design.

I cut a piece of white card for the inside. I stamped a greeting by combining sentiments from The Greetery and Concord & 9th. I also added smaller stamped images for decoration.

My final card features the Happy Rays turnabout stamp. This time I stamped it in bright, sunny colours. I trimmed the stamped panel to 5” x 3¾” and adhered it to a mat layer of gold vellum measuring 5¼” x 4”. I used the large circle die to cut a vellum mat and added a birthday greeting on a smaller die cut circle.

I kept the inside of the card simple. I cut a piece of white card to 5¼” x 4” and stamped a greeting in orange and some fun confetti in yellow. This card is also for Ben – this time from his Nanna. I love the turnabout stamps - they look so different in different colours.

Since making these cards, The Greetery Sentiment Suite Birthdays has sold out. However, there are some fabulous inside sentiments available from Avery Elle and My Favorite Things.

That’s all from me today. Thanks for stopping by. See you again next week.
