More Christmas Cards

More Christmas Cards

Good morning! It suddenly feels like winter. The weekend was mild, but the last few days have been cold – frost on the rooftops too! Still can’t complain. It did, however, put me in a winter mood and I’ve made a few more Christmas cards for my stash. I know I said I’d finished, but it’s always a good idea to have some extras – just in case!! I’ve mixed old and new products from several companies. Here’s my first card:

This is an American A6 notecard (6¼” x 4½”). I started by cutting a piece of white card to 5½” x 3¾”. I stamped the large ‘love & joy’ sentiment from C&9 Big On Christmas in the centre in deep red ink. I used the Quilted Card Front die to add detail to the panel. I layered this onto deep red card and adhered it to the front of the notecard. I used Hero Arts’ Color Layering Holly stamp set and co-ordinating dies to make holly leaves and berries to decorate the front. I layered three of the holly leaves and one set of berries on deep red card, while the others are flat. I added sparkle to the holly berries with a clear aqua shimmer brush.

Inside the card, I cut a mat layer of deep red card. On the white panel, I stamped a Christmas greeting along with another holly leaf and berries. The next two cards are both mini slimline – I thought they’d work perfectly with the stamp sets.

First, a clean, simple Christmas lights card. I used MFT’s Party Lights. I used a slimline stitched edge die to cut out a panel of white card. I stamped the light cords in Versafine Claire Nocturne ink (my go to black ink) and stamped the lights in rainbow colours. I stamped ‘merry Christmas’ in black ink. I layered the panel on black card and adhered it to the mini slimline card (6¼” x 3¼”). To finish the front, I added sparkle to the lights with a clear aqua shimmer brush, used a white gel pen to add highlights and finished with a coat of Glossy Accents for shine.

Inside, I cut a mat layer of black card. On the white panel I added a greeting and more Christmas lights.

I used the same process to make a white panel for this card. I used my stamp positioner to stamp ‘merry & bright’ with rainbow inks. I used a blending brush to add the ink to the stamp, stamped and moved on to the next colour. I finished the front by stamping a few silver stars. I layered the panel on a black mat layer and adhered it to the front of mini slim line card.

I stamped a Christmas greeting inside on the white panel and added some stars to match the front of the card. I layered this on black mat and adhered it to the card.

So, that’s another three Christmas cards for my stash. I did have fun making them. Thanks for sticking with me. See you again next week.
