Anyone for Popcorn? I love how this die and stencil set from Waffleflower create a delicious looking punnet of popcorn and I decided to use this pun to make an interactive card too...

To start with I used the die and stencil set to make a classic red and white stripe tub and cut a couple of popcrn clusters. The stencil allows you to add shading to the fluffy corn and give the illusion of dimension. I used the same stencil to carefully add some shading the the single pieces too. The blue panel has been embossed using the Popcorn Stencil by Newtons Nook, I love the subtle texture for a background :)

To to make this interactive I cut a slit in the blue card which would be hidden behind the punnet and then cut a strip of white card that would fit through the slit width wise. I attached one of the clusters to the top of the card strip and then used a stamp to add the Happy Birthday greeting underneath. One thing you need to make sure is there is enough room for the card to slip down behind the blue panel without showing at the bottom when cosidering the placement of the popcorn and the slit. When you pull the back cluster of popcorn upwards your sentiment is revealed :)

I used Concord & 9th's Tall Type alpha to add the main part of the sentiment and, after scouring my stamps, had to use the computer to add the rest  :) I'm not sure wether to add a 'pull here' instruction.... there's not an obvious place to put it so I'll probably leave it off.

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
