Sew, it's your Birthday!

Sew, it's your Birthday!

I do love the 3D card box dies that the stamp companies have brought out, they mean you can make more imaginative cards for friends and family... and they still fit into an envelope too. For this card I've used the Outside the Box Level Up dienamics together with Lawn Fawn's Sewn with Love for a special birthday card.....

I started by making up the box in white card and used Victorian Velvet Distress Oxide to colour the strips that hold the images. For the back and side panels I heat embossed the Four Corners background onto white card with white embossing powder then used the same pink ink to colour over the pattern for a reverse effect. Its easier to do this first before cutting the pieces needed.

I stamped, coloured and cut the images out with scissors so I could then start arranging them into position... trying to get the perspective sort of correct. Just to add a bit of extra dimension I wound a length of thread onto the blank cotton reels and threaded a piece through the needle too.

I added a strip of bunting across the back panel using the Shadow Box Swag die, I just cut the ends off to use it flat and then added colour to the extra flags to place on top.

This is the best view, I love the layered look :) You can probably think of other stamp sets you can use to personalise this little 3D box card, it's fun and a bit different from the usual card style :)

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
