Simply Celebrate Fall

Simply Celebrate Fall

Morning! Deborah here with you today. I treated myself to the new Simply Celebrate Fall stamp set and matching die set, and Simply Fall Sentiments stamps, and challenged myself to make several cards. I ended up making six cards! I started by stamping all the images from Simply Celebrate Fall in black ink, coloured them with Copic markers, and cut them out with the matching dies. Then I put together my cards, here’s the first:

I cut a piece of purple card from my stash into two, folding each piece to make a side opening US A2 size card. I cut a piece of white card onto which I blended orange, pink, purple, blue, and black to create a night-time sky. I used a stitch edged die to cut the panel and adhered it to a white mat layer. I used shimmer paint to create the stars. Once the panel was completely dry, I stamped the Halloween greeting and embossed it with white powder. I finished the front by adding the cute ghosts at an angle in the sky. On the white panel inside the card, I stamped a suitable greeting and added a couple more of the cute ghosts.

My next card is much cleaner and simpler. I used the acorn die to cut three more pieces in orange card and adhered all the pieces together to give the acorns dimension. I stamped a greeting at the top of the card and adhered the dimensional row of acorns. I stamped the acorns again, coloured them and then fussy cut them and adhered them falling down the front of the card. Inside the card, I cut a mat layer of orange card and on the white panel added the co-ordinating greeting along with more acorns.

Next is a card to celebrate autumn. I used the leaf die to cut four more white die cuts and glued them together. I used a green A2 note card for the base and cut a piece of design paper (such as this set) to cover the front of the card. I adhered the leaves and added a simple greeting in black ink. I added sparkle to the leaves with a gold tinted aqua shimmer brush. Inside the card, I cut a piece of white card to size and glued a piece of the left-over design paper to the side of the panel. I created the greeting using stamps from Scripty Autumn Sentiments and Thanks Thanks Thanks. To finish the inside, I added an autumn leaf.

Next, is another Halloween card. I used orange card to make the A2 note card. I added a piece of design paper (such as this pad) over the front of the card. I used smaller dies to cut a stitched edge white panel onto which I stamped a Halloween greeting. I layered the panel onto black card and added it to the front of the card. I used dimensional pads to adhere the candy corn. I cut a piece of white card for the inside and added a piece of the design paper to the side of the card. I stamped a matching greeting and added tiny candy corn images.

My final Halloween card features the row of pumpkins. I used the pumpkin die to cut more white die cuts and adhered them together. For the background panel I blended orange, pink, purple and blue inks – to create a sunset background. I used paints to add the ‘stars’. I used an older Lawn Fawn set – Costume Party – to stamp a couple of cute costumed kids along with a pumpkin, broom, and candy bag. I coloured the images with Copic markers and used the matching dies to cut them out. I used a rectangle die to cut the blended panel and adhered it to a white mat. I glued the characters to the card, added the row of pumpkins and then stamped a bold Halloween greeting. I finished the front by adding a touch of glitter to the pumpkins with a clear aqua shimmer brush. On the white panel inside the card, I stamped a fun greeting and added a few more decorations.

I used the row of apples on my final card. I decided to make a large apple the feature of this card. I used the Apple Orchard dies from Concord & 9th to cut the apple from orange card, and cut the leaf, stalk and apple from white card. I lightly blended red ink over the orange card and stamped a greeting on the apple. I glued the white apple flesh, added apple seeds, the stalk and leaf. I finished the front of the card by added the row of apples at the bottom of the card. Inside the card I added a matching greeting. I stamped another row of apples, fussy cut them out and glued them to the panel. I added cute faces to the apples.

I’m so pleased with the variety of cards I made – the Halloween cards are for Kat and her flat mate Rachel, and for Ben. The rest are for my stash.

Thanks so much for sticking with me – it’s good to be back. I think next week I need to make Christmas cards. See you soon.
