Make a Wish Mini Slimline Card

Make a Wish Mini Slimline Card

Hi, it's Ruby here today. I hope you've had a great week :)

This week, I'm sharing a mini slimline card with you. I love the characters from Mama Elephant and thought a cute card would make a nice change from the Christmas cards I've been sharing. Even though I'm more of a dog than a cat person,  I couldn't resist this set as it has little coffee cups.

I'm well known for drinking coffee. Any stamp set that includes coffee cups is going to get my vote, so it was only natural that I'd use the little coffee cups from this set :) I ordered a fun little coffee set from Waffle Flower called Enveloper Coffee Stamps and Dies. It's on sale at the moment.  I love the little coffee cup in the set; it's so cute. I'm going to stamp it on my diary pages. As cardmakers, we spend a lot of time creating for other people. Sometimes, it's nice to create something just for you :)

Onto today's card. Here's how I made it:

Stamp images  - I used the Mama Elephant Little Line Agenda Stamps and Dies. They are really sweet images. I stamped onto Transotype Perfect Colouring Paper. It's a nice, smooth paper. The larger packs are out of stock, but sample packs are still available. Top Tip: While you've got the stamps out, stamp and colour extras will have some ready to use when you need them.

Colour the images -I used coloured pencils for mine, but you could use Artist Markers, these coloured pencils, or some fine-tip pens. I chose a simple colour scheme of lilac and aqua.

Die cut the images - Using the matching dies, die cut the image. I think it's great that you can cut the line of characters using the one die.Die cut two extra blanks and adhere to the back of the coloured image. This creates a nice solid piece, preventing damage in the post.

Create your card base - For a typical mini Cut a 6" x 6" piece of cardstock and then score at the 3" mark.

Top Tip: Hello, patterned paper pads - they're already pre-cut for you. You will need to reinforce the card base inside if you use the paper, though. Just cut a couple of mini slimline rectangle dies and adhere them to the inside to make them more durable.

Die cut the slimline panels - one in white using the larger die and another in teal for the smaller panel. Attach to the card base.

There are lots of stitched rectangular dies you can use for the panels. Here are a few you might like to check out - MFT Wonky Stitched Mini Slimline Dies, Lawn Fawn's Small Mini Slimline Stackable Dies, or Stitched Mini Slimline STAX Dies.

Stamp the sentiment - As you'll no doubt discover very quickly, I'm a huge fan of the Featured Sentiments Die Set. I cannot recommend them highly enough. The dies are super useful for any sentiment set. The Thank You sentiment is from Altenew's A Study in Watercolor Stamp Set, which I stamped on a white card, and then I die-cut the background in lilac. Attach to the front of the card to finish.

Top Tip: Companies often add lots of little stamps into their sets, so rummaging through old stamps is always worthwhile. You never know what you're going to find. I've kept this set out as I want to make a card with it soon.

Add a little sequin onto the plain cup to finish the card.

PS. Remember to check out the Flashback Friday Bargains. Some of the sets would be great to recreate the cards that I shared last week here.

Happy shopping!
