The Big 5-0

The Big 5-0

One of my friends turned the big 5-0 yesterday so I needed a number themed card to celebrate the milestone.

I wanted to create a faux-embossed look for the card so die cut lots of 5's and 0's from white card using Concord and 9ths Notable Numbers dies.  I used peacock feathers oxide ink to subtly blend a little colour onto each before adhering in rows across my 7x5 inch base card, stagering the start of the numbers so it wasn't all rows and columns the same.   I cut the same numbers once from gold card to be the "focal" number next to the sentiment.

For the sentiment I went for the fab new set from The Greetery - Sentiments Squared.   I love this set as it has decorative elements to stamp on the bottom of the large sentiments and then a TONNE of little sentiments to pair with them.   The sentiments are designed to fit perfectly into their text box die which frames them all really neatly.   I die cut that from gold and snipped the bar on the bottom so I could have a full length sentiment in that space.   I stamped the Happy in teal and then dried with my heat gun before embossing the details over the top in gold and cutting with the matching die.   I stamped the second sentiment in teal and trimmed to fit the gap.

Easy and classy but no getting away from the big number!   Easy to change the design for any age too.

Right back to adding the latest release from Purple Onion Designs which will be in store later today.
