The Classic Christmas Half Tree

The Classic Christmas Half Tree

My card today was inspired by my mother-in-law who sadly isn't with us anymore but she loved Christmas and timming up the house and in their small dinning room where she didn't have room to put a tree on the floor, she put one on the wall!   Her "half" tree  had flattened branches at the back but looked like a full tree at the front - genius!   So I've taken a leaf out of her book and made a classic "half tree" on a card front with the new version of Concord and 9th's Take A Bough Die.

All I did was cut the 5 smaller layers from evergreen card, fold them in half and glue the backs to my card front (stamped first with the snowflake roundabout stamp from Newton's Nook).  I cut a simple pot shape to ground it and then used the new Take A Bough trimmings cut from glitter card to decorate it.

I think it makes a really unique card you wouldn't find the likes of in the shops. Although it may look tricky to post, you can fold it flatter for posting and I thought it would be fun to pop the trimmings inside in a tiny envie with a note telling the recipient to trim the tree after opening!

Hope you like it!

Tara
