Tropical Birthday

Tropical Birthday

Good morning! It's Deborah here with you today. I'm sharing a totally tropical birthday card made using supplies from Altenew and My Favorite Things.

I've had the Parrot Paradise stamp set from Altenew for some while and really like it, and I got the matching Parrot Paradise die set from Tara last week. So I thought it was time to get them out to play. I stamped the large parrot on white card, coloured it with Copic markers, restamped using Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I used the matching die to cut it out. The leaves are multi-layered images and very easy to line up. I stamped them using a couple of shades of green ink, and then used the matching dies to cut them out. The hibiscus flower comes from Altenew's Totally Tropical stamp set. This set contains four layered tropical flowers, along with some layered leaves and sentiments too. I used the matching Totally Tropical die set to cut out the flower. I cut a panel of peach card adhered it to the cardbase and then covered it with some tropical themed vellum from my stash. I adhered the leaves and flower flat to the card and used dimensional pads to attach the parrot. I also added some shimmer to the bird. I finished the front with a clean, crisp birthday greeting.

On the inside, I cut another panel of the peach card and a piece of white card slightly smaller. I stamped a fun, and rather sassy, greeting on the white panel - it comes from My Favorite Things Sassy Pants Birthday Greetings 2 stamp set. There are some great sentiments in this set. I finished the panel by stamping one of the detail layering images in matching ink.

That's all from me today - see you again next week. Stay home, keep safe and craft! Bye for now.
