Valentines, but Different!
Hey Terri here, Happy Valetines day! Today I thought I'd sahre a card I created to give to a friend on Valetines day who has recently gone through a break up.
I started by stencilling the background using the Whimsical Wings Layering Stencil Set from Concord & 9th, I stencilled onto 80lb Neenah Solar Crest cardstock. I then used the Kaleidoscope Die set to cut the sentiment and embellishments.
I cut the word hey from Gold glitter card and the mini sub sentiment from black card. I used the doily edged circle die to cut a piece of vellum which I edged using Icicle Stickles Glitter Glue.
While the glue was drying I die cut the 2 small hearts using the Kaleidoscope Die set and the large heart from the Cutie Pie Alphabet Die Set. I added some of the Icicle Stickles Glitter Glue to the hearts too.
I placed the stencilled background onto an A2 cardbase and the added the die cut sentiment to the veluum and adorned with the hearts and subsentiment. I added a strong liuid glue to the reverse of the vellum, where the hearts were in order to stick it to the card without the glue showing.
I think this card will be perfect to let my friend know how much I love her without looking to much like a traditional Valentines day card.
