Halloween House Decoration

Halloween House Decoration

Now we have them back in stock, I have just managed to make myself an addition to my Halloween decorations using the Eeerie Avenue dies and Market Houses from The Greetery and I LOVE it!

I started with a black base using the Arch Box Large Die and the Market Place No 2 House Die.  I used one of the windows to cut an extra apperture in the thin side of each Arch Box Large Die cut (adding a bit of acetate behind s I could add the frame back into the hole) so I could get more glow from the sides and add more decoration too.

I wanted to use my favourite Halloween papers to decorate it (from an old My Minds Eye pad) so went with one with lots of spooky text for the front of the house, and topped with some glitter plaid from the same pad.  I used more of the same pad to cut the window shutters from the building die and the window boards from the Eeerie die to keep it all in the same tones.  Adding black and orange windows.  I added white glitter paper ghosts  and spiders webs and black bats from the Eeerie die - using thin strips of thick acetate to allow some to stick out from the house.

I also used a folded bit of acetate under the house - this means you can stick things to the stuck up bit a little way in front of the house so you can add a spooky cemetry/garden with the fence, tree, pumpkins and gravestones from the Eerie die.

To make it extra spooky for halloween, I added some led lights with a battery pack (not the ones we sell for cards but ones you can find in homestores at the minute or online) that are both purple and orange and I love the way it glows in my pumpkin filled fireplace at night.

And adding the side windows really helps the night time glow from both sides!

Hopefully that's inspired you to make a Halloween decoration for tomorrow!

Happy Halloween.

Tara
