Happy Birthday You Silly Goose!

Happy Birthday You Silly Goose!

Hey, Terri here!
Today I’m sharing a super cute goose-themed birthday card, featuring Lawn Fawn Silly Goose! Stamp Set along with the Lawn Fawn Knock Knock, Who's There Die.

I started by stamping my chosen images from Lawn Fawn Silly Goose! Stamp Set onto 110lb smooth white cardstock using alcohol-friendly ink. After colouring them with my alcohol markers, I loved the results so much that I skipped adding white gel pen highlights—very unusual for me, lol! I then cut everything out with the coordinating Lawn Fawn Silly Goose! Die.

For the background, I ink-blended a sunny, cloudy sky with the Lawn Fawn Cloudy Stencil and yellow inks. I love creating non-traditional skies! To add texture, I flicked on water with a fan brush—without realizing it still had a bit of blue ink on it, which actually gave me the cutest splatters.

Next, I cut a strip of light teal cardstock (1" x 5.5") and blended on some teal ink for depth. After adding water splatters, I set it aside to dry before adhering it to the bottom of the background panel. I then used the largest of the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables Die to trim the whole panel down.

For the tree, I turned to the Lawn Fawn Knock Knock, Who's There Die. I cut the trunk and door from light brown cardstock, and the canopy from teal cardstock. After ink-blending each piece for dimension, I began assembling my scene.

I adhered the canopy first, then the trunk, and arranged my stamped images loosely to find the best layout. I decided to have a baby goose peeking out from the tree door—so sweet! Once happy with the placement, I adhered everything down using a mix of glue and foam pads for added dimension.

The Lawn Fawn Silly Goose! Stamp Set includes a little speech bubble and coordinating sentiments, perfect for interactive scenes. I stamped a sentiment inside the bubble and positioned it so it looks like one goose is speaking. I also stamped another sentiment onto the wooden sign, pointing to the direction of mother goose reading a story, adorable!

To finish the scene, I added party hats, presents, and eggs around the geese. For the main sentiment, I stamped it onto a Lawn Fawn Stitched Banner Die cut from white cardstock. I then covered an A2 card base with plaid paper from Lawn Fawn Favourite Flannel Fall 6x6 Paper Pad and layered my finished panel on top. I love how a couple of the geese hang slightly over the edges—it makes the scene feel bigger and more playful!

Thanks for stopping by today, have a great week.
