How to "Edit" Seasonal Stamps for Year Round Use

Tara has a couple of cards to share today - both made with a Christmas stamp, but neither for use at Christmas!   She's even done a little video to show exactly how to "edit" your stamps so you can stretch your seasonal products for year round crafting.   You can find the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWNkX0_s62k

Essentially if you have an element on a stamp that doesn't quite fit your needs then you can get rid of it in a few different ways - so in these examples - we lose the Christmas ornament and we can use the stamp for lots more occassions.

For the easiest way to change it up - I just die cut a little heart and stuck it over the ornament as if the cat was holding a love heart necklace

For the second, we do a little masking trick - watch the video for full details - there are a couple of different ways to mask out a part of stamp.  Once the whole ornament and chain is gone, we add a die cut mug to make sense of the paws holding something.

For this second card I used a couple of new Waffle Flower Crafts Dies - the grass texture and the sweet grass die to give some ground for the cat to stand on.  Colouring the latter with copics - we often forget we can colour die cuts with pens like we do stamped images and are not just limited to cutting bits of card.

The video also shows how you can do the same technique with sentiments so you can mix and match them to get a whole new vocab for your projects.

Hopefully this is useful - do let me know - I would like to do more videos if they are something you find helpful so give our YouTube channel a follow so we know you'd be interested in seeing more technique videos.

Happy Crafting!

Tara
