Hello there, Terri here! Today I am sharing a cute spring themed card, showcasing Lawn Fawn's I like big butterflies and Big blossom backdrop: portrait die.
I started this project by stamping the butterflies and speech bubbles from I Like Big Butterflies Stamp on to 80lb Neenah Solar Crest cardstock, using an alcohol friendly ink. I then added colour to the images using alcohol markers. The images were die cut using the I Like Big Butterflies Die.
To create the sky background, I used the Cloudy Stencil from Lawn Fawn. I inked in light blue onto a piece of 110lb A2 Neenah Solar Crest cardstock. I then added Liquid Stardust splatters to create interest and depth to the sky. I set this aside to dry.
Moving on to the Big Blossom Backdrop Portrait Die, I die cut from 110lb super smooth cardstock, I added colour with alcohol markers, choosing two shades per colour family to give the impression of light and shade. I added the flower heads and Pistils (centres) to the stalks.
To compile the card, I added the sky panel to an A2 card base using a liquid adhesive. I then adhered the Big Blossom Backdrop over the top. I placed my butterflies using foam tape. I stamped mini sentiments to the speech bubbles and also stamped the "FLAP" to give the idea of the butterflies moving. Lastly I embellished by adding glitter glue to the flowers and butterflies for added shimmer.
