Hi, Terri here! Today I am sharing a fun Halloween card using the Build-A-Critter product suit from Lawn Fawn. My card features lots of die cutting, along with an ink blended background. Let's see how this card came together.
My card features 3 bunnies, all wearing Halloween costumes. I chose to give each bunny a different colour fur and costume.
Grey Bunny
To create the grey bunny i started by die cutting all of the required elements for its body from the Build-A-Bunny Dies. I then die cut the dungarees from the Build-A-Bunny Accessories Dies and the cape, mask and belt from the Build-A-Critter More Costumes Dies.
Beige Bunny
For the Beige bunny, I cut the body parts from the Build-A-Bunny Dies. I added a little top from the Build-A-Bunny Accessories Dies and the witch's hat, cape and broom from the Build-A-Critter Costumes Die.
Brown Bunny
The brown bunny was created using the Build-A-Bunny Dies, for the body. Build-A-Critter Costumes Die and Build-A-Critter More Costumes Dies for the ghost costume and pumpkin pail.
All elements were cut from 80lb coloured cardstock and adhered with a strong wet glue.
Background
To create the background, I started by cutting a piece of cardstock to measure 4" by 5.25". I then ink blended using distress oxide inks. I added a band of Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink horizontally the centre of the card. I then added a band of Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink either side. Finally I added Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Ink to fill the remaining space. I blended back and forth a few times to achieve the best transitions possible. When happy I added some Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink around the outer edges, this helps to darken the scene and give it a night time feel.
I added some splatters of Gansi Tambi Starry Colors over the background and set it aside to dry. Once fully dry I added a fence using the Spooky Fence Border Die cut from black. This will help us to ground the images.
Sentiment
I chose my sentiment from the Henry's Build-A-Sentiment Fall stamp set. Before anything, I added a ton of anti static powder over the whole background using the Ranger Anti-Static Pouch. I then placed the card into my stamping platform, aligned the sentiments and picked them up with the door. I used an Embossing Ink Pad to ink up the stamp and stamped the sentiment 3 times! I then sprinkled Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder on top and heat set with my embossing tool.
To bring the card together I added the ink blended background to a white A2 card base. I then adhered the ghost to the left side and the superhero to the right. Finally I added the witch using foam pads.
I am super pleased with how this card turned out. The ink blended is stunning and the punny sentiment ties back to the witch, who is sitting centre stage, flocked by her friends.
