Spooktacular Halloween Postage Collage Card

Spooktacular Halloween Postage Collage Card

Hello, Terri here! 🎃
Today I’m excited to share a fun Halloween card made with the Waffle Flower Crafts Postage Collage product suite. To begin, I die-cut the Original A2 Postage Collage Die from 110lb super-smooth white cardstock to create the perfect base for my design.

Using the Postage Collage Spooktacular Stencil, I added the Halloween scenes to each of the stamp sections. I absolutely love the Postage Collage collection! The layering stencils are etched with helpful guides showing the order to apply the layers and suggested colours to use. Of course, these are just recommendations — you can let your creativity run wild!

I began by inking through the first stencil to create the background for each scene. Before removing the stencil, I added some black inky splatters, followed by a few touches of Liquid Stardust for a subtle, shimmery effect.

I continued working my way through the remaining three stencils, each layer gradually revealing more of the design. For the colour palette, I chose slightly muted Halloween tones instead of the usual bright shades, giving the piece a softer, more vintage feel. Using the Spooktacular stamp set and black ink, I added a few postage marks to reinforce the mail-inspired theme. Once the stamping was complete, I gave the ink a quick blast with my heat tool to ensure everything was fully dry before adding a few crisp highlights with a white gel pen.

I created the sentiment using the Spooktacular Stamp Set. I chose my desired sentiment and white heat-embossed it onto black cardstock. As always, I used an antistatic tool beforehand to minimize stray embossing powder. When white heat embossing, I like to stamp with white pigment ink first — it helps ensure the best results by filling in any areas that might otherwise miss the embossing powder.

Now it was time to bring everything together! I chose a white A2 card base and added a blue inked panel that had been sitting on my desk (lol). I adhered the panel to the card, then attached the postage collage panel using foam pads for dimension. I trimmed the sentiment and added it with black foam pads. I’m so happy with how this card turned out — it was my first time using this stencil, and I’ll definitely be using it again in the future!
