Meet The Team

Meet the people behind Seven Hills Crafts

The store was originally launched in the late 2000s under the name of Make the Day Special by a crafter who wanted to avoid the high costs of duty and delivery fees on US imports.

The store has changed owners a couple of times, but has always been owned and run by crafters who share your passion, so aim to bring you the very best products at competitive prices with unbeatable customer service.

Store Owners - Tara & Rick

A husband and wife team – this photo was taken at one of our loves – live music gigs – here at a Heaton and Abbot gig at the outdoor theatre in Scarborough a few years ago.  We love a good comedy gig too!

Tara was the first to get involved in the store as she was a member of the Make The Day Special Design Team before owning the store and is a life long crafter (you name it – she’s probably tried it and bought the starter kit!)  She’s been a card maker for over 20 years and has had projects published in many UK and US Craft Publications.   She is still yet to define her personal style as she finds it hard to pick a lane but generally prefers clean yet bold designs and anything with a teal colour theme!  Outside the store Tara loves to read, cook and build Lego!

Rick was dragged into the business when it got busy leaving his previous role in a SciFi Book and Comic Store.  Although not a crafter, Rick is the artist on the team and loves photography too.  When not discussing something geeky online with his mates, you’ll likely find him outside doing a little star gazing.

The Design Team

Whilst we don’t have any employees, we do have a fabulous team of crafters who help inspire you with how to use the products we sell on our store blog.  You can find out a little more about the team below.

Jen Nelson

A card maker for over 20 years, my style is clean and simple, with neat designs and thoughtful details. I love adding simple elements together to make beautiful cards.  Whether it’s a delicate sentiment or a bold, graphic element, I aim to create cards that feel understated yet impactful, refined yet personal.

I’m passionate about high-quality stamps and dies, and my favorite brands — Purple Onion Designs, Concord & 9th, and Waffle Flower — never fail to inspire me.

I enjoy sharing my love of card making, whether creating for friends and family or inspiring other crafters.

Natalia Harandon

As a long-time card maker, I’m a huge fan of versatile supplies that work for different occasions and themes. I absolutely love projects where I can get inky with different colour palettes, so stamp layering and multi-step stencils are a total joy for me.

My favourite brands include The Greetery, Concord & 9th, and Waffle Flower Crafts.

Terri-Marie Koszler

I have been crafting for over 20 years and found that cardmaking is my preferred craft.  I love to make interactive cards and enjoy collecting all the things, full set syndrome is real! To earn a place in my craft room, a product needs multiple uses!  My go to products are layering stencils and scene building stamps and dies.

Lawn Fawn, Waffle Flower Crafts and Concord & 9th are my favourite brands.
