Morning all!
I'm back with the last card in my Christmas in July series for 2025.
And I'm going out with a bit of a product mash-up card.
My whole plan was to use the wonderful Holly Jolly Background die and stencil combo from Waffle Flower Crafts that came out last summer.
This time I wanted to give it a go on peachy toned cardstock, so I first ran the Holly Jolly Background die through my machine with an A2 panel of Nectar cardstock from Concord & 9th.
Then I stuck it down on my Waffle Flower grip mat to add colour to the holly leaves and berries with the coordinating 2-step stencils. I used two tones of ink for each step to add a bit of variation.
And to frame the panel, I ran it through with a die that would add a subtle stitched border around the outside.
Next, there had to be some snowy splatter, so I grabbed the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors palette to add some white gold splatter, which glistens nicely when you title your project in the light, and some white paint over the top.
While the background panel was drying, I flicked through my sentiment sets and pulled out the wonderful Written in Ribbons Holiday stamps and matching dies from The Greetery.
There are four main festive words in this set that create a brushed lettering look. You can use two tones of ink or one for a more subtle shading effect.
I went with two shades in the same ink family, stamping the lighter ink first and then going in with the darker ink for the shading.
I used the lighter ink to also stamp the surrounding sentiments, which are cut out with the Pretext Banners.
Before adding the sentiments to my card, I popped out the elements on the background panel and didn't add any glue to these areas when attaching the panel to my card base. The subtle dimension looks great, especially against the more dimensional ribbon sentiments.
And there we have it, another Christmas in July complete. Here's hoping I still remember how to make cards for other occasions!
Until next time, happy crafting!
