I do love to colour with pencils and Lesia's images are just perfect for that - pair that with my love of reindeer and you know what stamp I had to ink up first right????
I stamped him onto kraft and coloured with pencils with a little gold paint on the bells. If you get scared by colouring - give this brand a go - all the black line details on the stamps really help you with shading and this took me less than 5 minutes to colour!
I wanted to emphasise him popping out of the wreath so decided to do a partial die cut technique - to cut a perfect circle around the bottom without chopping his antlers off.
This is not as tricky as you might think! I just fussy cut around his antlers with small scissors and cut around his ears and down his head (see the yellow lines on the image below) which then allows me to slide the circle die behind his head before I run it through the machine.
I then used the same circle die and another two sizes larger to create a ring to sit him in - once you glue him down you can't see the cuts along the yellow lines.
To make the card I used the new Lawn Fawn paper pad (currently out of stock but will be back soon) as the little bits of gold foil make it feel really Christmassy. I thought it needed a bit more colour so I added a belly band of green from the same pad to tie all the colours together.
I wasn't sure if I was going to add a sentiment as I liked it without but in the end I settled on a tiny one just under the wreath.
Hope that's given you some inspiration and a new technique to try!
Happy Crafting!
