Hi, Terri here! Today, I’m excited to share a handmade butterfly card inspired by the talented Galina Filippenko from Waffle Flower Crafts. When I saw Galina’s card, I immediately wanted to try her techniques and put my own twist on them. The result is a beautifully layered card that combines texture, colour, and dimension.

I started by stamping five butterfly images across a piece of white cardstock using the Butterfly Trio Stamp and Sand Dunes Ink. Then, I used the coordinating Butterfly Trio Colouring Stencil to softly blend the same ink over the stamped images, creating a subtle layer of color. To add more depth and variation, I repeated the process with Dew Drop Ink .
Next, I worked on the background. I used the Quatrefoil Texture Die to add a gentle impression to a white A2 card base, giving it extra dimension. Then, I cut the Quatrefoil Panel Die from kraft cardstock and adhered it on top of the textured base. Finally, I layered the stamped butterfly panel over the background to complete the layout.

For the main focal point, I stamped and stencilled a butterfly in Dew Drop Ink , then cut it out with the Butterfly Trio Die. To create a sense of movement, I gently curled the wings around the barrel of a pen and attached the butterfly to the card using foam pads for added dimension.
For the sentiment, I stamped it in Sand Dunes Ink and cut it out with the Butterfly Trio Die. I also die-cut three additional blank layers and stacked them underneath the stamped sentiment. This technique added height and matched the dimensional look of the butterfly, resulting in a balanced and cohesive focal point. To complete the card I added a scattering of Enamel Dots from Altenew, I chose the Earthy Embrace colour palette.
