It was A level results day here in the UK yesterday and I have a couple of friends with kids who go their results and are now ready to go to Uni in September so I thought I'd celebrate with a BIG congrats card for them.
I do LOVE a big statement die cut and this Big Congrats from Avery Elle is perfect when paired with the matching stamp set for a wide variety of ocassions.
I die cut the die whilst still attached to the outline so I could inlay the pieces for a flat look (but you can separate them if you want a solid outline to put behind the die cut too). I cut it twice from both white and black cardstock and then set about rainbowising the white......
For the version I'm using for results cards I rainbowed the word - just using oxide inks and a detail blending tool. That was then laid into the black outline and finished with a couple of perfect sentiments from the Big Congrats stamp. If like me you've had issues with these "background sentiment" sets in the past - these are really deeply etched so the sentiment is super crisp.
For the white outline version, I again blended with the same inks and popped the black sentiment in the middle. I'm going to leave these in my card stash without further sentiments, then when I need one quickly I can just grab the stamp and finish them off.
Hope anyone else with kids waiting for results got what they needed too.
Catch you on Sunday.
