Paper Hugs

Paper Hugs

Hello! It's Deborah here with you this morning. I've made an interactive card that I've CASEd from the very talented Jennifer McGuire. I used products from Concord & 9th, and Hero Arts.

I used Hero Arts' Mail Jumble stamp to make the background. I stamped the image in Versamark ink onto watercolour card and embossed it with white powder. I rubbed three inks pads directly on the card and spritzed with pearly water to allow the inks to blend. I set the panel aside to dry. Meanwhile, I stamped the flowers from Concord & 9th's Type Talk stamp set onto white card. I coloured the image with Copic markers and then restamped with dark grey ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I used the matching Concord & 9th Type Talk die set to cut out the flowers, along with a couple of white card die cuts.

I used Concord & 9th's Mail Drop die set to create the green envelope. I used the matching Mail Drop stamp set to stamp the lines on the envelope. I used the dies to create the letter coming out of the envelope and stamped fine lines with pale grey ink. I used the sweet sentiment 'Sending Paper Hugs' on the letter and added some little kisses in with a grey fine liner.

In the Mail Drop die set there is a little die which cuts a slot in the back of the envelope and background allowing the insertion of the letter. If you go to the Mail Drop description you can find a link to the Concord & 9th video which shows the whole Mail Drop bundle. I assemebled the card, attached the flowers to the 'letter' and added a 'pull here' tab behind the flowers. I finished the card by using one of the flowers as a decoration on the front of the envelope.

I really like combining different stamp and die sets on one card. I plan on using the cute typewriter and the mail box on some more cards soon. That's all for now. See you soon.

Deborah, x
