Party Hat Fun!

Party Hat Fun!

Morning all!

I'm back today with another project made using supplies from the latest release by The Greetery.

There are so many fun birthday-themed products in the new Confetti Encore collection, but one thing that was missing from my supplies was a fun party hat!

Originally designed as part of the Hey Honeycomb family of products for making interactive cards with a surprise honeycomb element, what I especially love about the Party Hat dies (and matching stencils) is that they're perfect for any celebratory occasion.

I also love the three sizes of rosette circles that will be fun to use on their own too!

But for this project, it's all about that hat!

So I grabbed some inks and got to work creating a fun and sparkly birthday card.

I cut the hat from white cardstock and then went in with the 3-step stencils to colour in the stripes and inside of the hat. You can do your stencilling first, then cut the hat with the die – but this way round worked fine for me.

Next, I created a colour-coordinating background by blending mint ink on a cream cardstock panel. Using cream cardstock instead of white is a great way to get a warmer and softer tone from your inks.

I gave the panel a blast with the heat gun before stamping the previously released Ticker Tape background stamp in Versamark ink and heat embossing with sparkly platinum embossing powder.

There is also new a foiling plate with the Ticker Tape design, but for those of us without a hot foiling system the red rubber background stamp is great!

I trimmed down the Ticker Tape panel and created a contrasting edge for my card using the Airmail Border stencils in the same ink tones as the stripes on the party hat.

I cut the hat rosettes from coordinating pink cardstock and added a glittery star to the centre.

But before I stuck the rosette on the hat, I grabbed the new Birthday Wishes stamp and die set from Waffle Flower to create the perfect sentiment to go with this card.

I also couldn't resist cutting the Curly Q Streamers dies from pale pink glitter card. They flew out of stock, but more will be coming into the store in a few weeks. Just make sure you sign up to request a restock notification if you want to grab them next time around.

As you can see, they really do add a perfect finishing touch to the fun birthday theme!

Until next time, happy crafting!
