My old boss is getting married today so I thought I'd share the wedding card I made for him and his new wife.
I already had the dress made a while ago and it's just been waiting for a card to feature on. The dress itself I just drew the shape and cut with scissors, embossed a white on white pattern and added some tiny hints of glitter. I added some lace at the bottom and some ribbon to hide the glue line. I matched the ribbon at the waist and added some diamantes for added sparkle.
To create the bouquet I used the Lilac die from The Greetery to cut lots of little yellow flowers. The leaf spring is from an unknown die set - its been on my desk for ages cos I can't remember where I took it from! To give dimension I used pinflair gel - added a teardrop shape and then stuck all the leaves and flowers til I covered it - shaping the flowers to give it a more realistic 3D feel and added a tiny crystal centre to each.

To create the card to the background I went with Capsules and Picado from The Greetery for some graceful wedding-like texture and detail. I started with the base layer using the largest die from the Capsule Basics Die cut from Ivory Glitter Card and added a dot of gold liquid pearl to each scallop.
I topped that with a Pretty Picado embossed panel of Shattered Shell card from Altenew which is a lovely soft yellow that works well for classy occasions like a wedding. I amped up the glamour with a frame of mat gold using the Capsule Filigree Borders die which just adds a little something extra and ties all the gold together.
Finished with a subtle sentiment stamped in gold ink onto more shattered shell using the Pretty Picado Sentiment set

I think sometimes we get scared to cover up a pattern but sometimes you just need to cover up parts to make your focal image pop and I think in this case the two bits work really well together.
Hope that's given you some ideas for a wedding card of your own.
Happy Crafting!
Tara
