I think I'm hooked on colouring die cuts with Distress Oxides on my Mini Media mat!! This week the Mistletoe die cut from Concord & 9th got the inky treatment. I love this die and I also used it during the summer for a totally different seasonal card (see here).
I started with stamping the All Lined Up Diagonal background on my card base in red and decided it was too bright for the Mistletoe so I cut a piece of vellum to place behind the sprig. I inked the Mistletoe with a mixture of Bundled Sage and Evergreen Bough using a sponge dauber and used a small amount of Twisted Citron and bundled sage around the edges of the berries, a good tip is that you can mix the colours on the mat before adding them to the die cut.
I attached the sprig to the vellum with foam pads behind the leaves and then used a needle to make two holes through the vellum and card front so I could thread a piece of bakers twine through and tie a bow around the die cut.... it's a good way to attach the vellum at the top. The sentiment is stamped onto a separate piece of card using three different alphabets...
I love the Shadowed Alpha from Hero Arts, it has a bit of a retro feel to it... do you agree?
Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
