City Blocks

Hi, Terri here! Today I’m sharing a card I created using the City Blocks Stamp, Die and Stencil Kit from Concord & 9th. This is my first time working with this set, and the moment I saw it, I knew I had to have it.

I started by selecting a cheerful palette for the apartment block: pink, yellow, and blue. With dye inks and blending brushes, I blended each colour through the layered stencils. The set includes four stencils, clearly numbered 1–4, and you just follow them in sequence. The website also provides a really handy diagram that shows what each layer adds to the design, which makes lining everything up so much easier.

Next came the really fun part—stamping and die-cutting all of the windows, doors, balconies, and plants. I love how much creativity you can bring to the process by mixing different colours to get the perfect look. I especially enjoyed adding two layers to some of the plants, using both light and dark shades of green to give them extra dimension.

I stamped my chosen sentiment onto the central apartment, then began adding the windows, doors, and balconies. After that, I decorated the piece by adding plants. I trimmed the stencilled panel to 5.25 × 4 inches, then mounted it onto an A2 white card base with adhesive foam tape for added dimension.
