Easter Blessings with The Greetery Golden Egg

Easter Blessings with The Greetery Golden Egg

Hi everyone, it's Natalia here today, with my first card featuring supplies from the lovely new Spring Jardin release from The Greetery.

I'm a real sucker for multistep florals frames, especially one from The Greetery's Print Shop series, so when I saw the Golden Egg stencil set it was a total must have for me!

I know Betsy showed how the stencil set can be adapted to A2 formats with a little selective inking and placement, but for its first outing I'm using the stencils as intended. On a 5x7 card.

Card idea featuring The Greetery Golden Egg

I started out by cutting a piece of Lawn Fawn Blush cardstock from the Macaron assorted pack to the width of the stencils so I could simply keep the cardstock panel in the corner of my stamp positioner and easily swap out the various stencil layers. This worked a treat!

I used a mix of bright spring colours at the top of the card and moved down into darker shades at the bottom.

The steps are so easy to follow that you don't have to look at the guide, but as always it provides some great colour inspiration, and you get an idea of which elements you can skip.

For this card, I omitted the oval step of stencil #3 to keep it the original blush cardstock colour inside the egg.

Instead, I grabbed the oval and scalloped dies from the coordinating Golden Egg die set to create the powder blue frame. I also used the oval die to create a mask so that I could splatter the inside of the egg with gold paint and not have it go anywhere else.

The Spring Jardin release included so many items that could fit inside the Golden Egg dies, but also coordinate with the ever-popular Capsule Basics collection.

I went with the lovely Bigger Botanicals Soapwort die, cut from C9 Artichoke, Ivory, and Sunflower. Again I added some Blush ink to the centres and a little pencil detail on the petals.

Finally, for my sentiment I went with a banner from the Twisted Tulips stamp + stencil combo cut with the matching die.

And there we go – I'm really pleased with how this turned out, plus I look forward to using the Golden Egg floral frame stencil steps on non-Easter cards too. So many possibilities!

Until next time, happy crafting!
