Today I am sharing 3 cards showcasing silhouette stamping. I will be using the Watercolor Roses stamp set from Altenew. This stamp set is designed to give a faux watercolor effect wen stamped with coloured inks, However I will be stamping in Obsidian pigment ink onto ink blended backgrounds for a striking look.
I started by ink blending my background onto Neenah cardstock, I have used Distress Oxides but you could use any pigment ink for a really smooth creamy finish. I find using 3 colours gives me the best blend.
Once the backgrounds were dry, (you could use a heat tool to set them) I started to stamp the images over the top. I use a stamping platform so that I can stamp 2 or 3 layers of black to give a solid silhouette.
I love how the stark black images look on the colourful backgrounds.
