Happy New Year and a birthday card

Happy New Year and a birthday card

Hello everyone and welcome back to the 2026 edition of the Seven Hills Crafts inspiration blog - we're all looking forward to bringing you lots more inspiration with the products we sell this year.

I'm kicking things off with a card that could well be used for sending new year wishes, but I've gone with a birthday theme as I need lots of birthday cards in January.

The expandable Limo Party Die from Concord and 9th's December release is a REALLY fun interactive die and super easy to put together to create a fun card that is guaranteed to make the recipient smile!

You cut two scored half ovals, attach those to a single 4¼ x 5½ inch panel and you get a small car with a super-s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d middle!

You die cut the front and rear end of the limo from your chosen card colour, then use the same to cut the black windows, and then cut the "middle" 4 times.   You then get a choice of things to poke out of the sunroof and windows from balloons, cash, champagne and glasses through to flowers and even a glitterball!   This means you can use the die for hen nights, weddings, birthdays, graduations - and more.

Here I die cut the hands (plus one extra) from a peach card and used markers to shade them all a little differently adding some nail varnish to boot and popped in glasses and champagne bottles.  Glue these behind the central panel and have some poking out of the open windows too.

I used 12x12 cardstock for my background - as it's layered it makes it strong enough to be a card and the doublesided print makes the background easy and fun.  You just need to remember to leave a tiny gap at the fold lines (the dies are sized so this works without you needing to think too much) as if you go too close the card won't fold and close properly.

I used the co-ordinating stamp set to add a couple of sentiments - one stamped onto the banner which comes in the die set - this is glued on one side only - you could add a tiny removable glue dot or velcro dot to close the card under the happy side if desired.

Hope that's given you so inspiration for this fun new set.

We'll be getting the January release soon we hope but we've not yet been sent ordering details for it due to the Christmas break.

Tara
