Hey stampers, Anni here!
I made a brown card! Can you believe it? I don't think I made a lot brown cards in my crafter's life! But it just happened.
It all started with Mama Elephant's super cute Zodiac Rooster. When I was a child, my parents had brown chicken. So I had to colour the chicken brown. I combined watercolours and pencils again for the colouring.
And that started the colour scheme for this card!
Most of the time I make birthday cards because these are the ones I need the most. But in these crazy times I sent out a few Just because cards to let my friend know I think of them. So I decided to make a Hello card with this chickie. I die cut Mama Elephant's Hilly Hello from brown cardstock - matching the rooster. From the inside of the O you get a tiny heart as well. I thought it was cute and die cut it from red cadstock and glued to the wing of the chicken as a small detail.
I also added in the tiny word Friend for the sentiment that I found in W Plus 9's Hand Lettered Hello.
And for the background I found some matching patterned paper in my stash - with a brown pattern as well. You see, it had taken a life on its own now.
I die cut a scalloped rectangle from Mama Elephant's Framed Tags: Waverly from the patterned paper.
The sky needed some clouds. So I die cut a little cloud from Lawn Fawn's Foursquare Backdrop: Portrait from white cardstock.
And that finished up my card and you know how I ended up with a brown card! And I have to say it could have been worse.
Do you have a colour that you wouldn't make a whole card of? Did you ever try? Let me know, I'm curious.
