Hey, Terri here! Today I am sharing an unusual Halloween card, using moths as my focal feature.
I started by stamping and black heat embossing the moths, lamp, stars and moon from the I Like Cute Moths Stamp set. I then used the coordinating I Like Cute Moths Colouring Stencil to add shades of blue and purple to the moths. I kept it simple, and used yellow for the moon and stars. I used the I Like Cute Moths Die set to cut them out.
I wanted to add a little Halloween fun to the moths so thought giving them witches hats would be cute. Again I stamped and heat embossed in black using the All The Witches Hats Stamp set. I then added some grey ink with the All The Witches Hats Colouring Stencil and a touch of yellow, purple and blue for the buckle and ribbon. I cut them out using the All The Witches Hats Die set.
To create my background I cut a piece of 110lb white cardstock to measure 4 by 5.25 inches. I then ink blended using the following distress oxide inks, Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire and Black soot. I started with the lightest shade where I knew the moon would sit and then worked up to the darkest shades towards the edges of the cardstock.
I spritzed with water and dried with a heat tool. Once dry, I added some splatters of water to give interest and movement to the background. I white heat embossed my sentiment at the bottom of the ink blended panel and then set about adding the die cut elements to set the scene. Once everything was in place I added glitter glue to the hats and moths tummies. I then adhered the panel to a white A2 notecard.
