I tried to challenge myself to make two christmas cards each month this year. That didn't go well, I guess I made about three cards until now. But a lot of companies are starting to release their Christmas stamps at the moment. That got me in the right mood and I inked up My Favorite Things' You Make my Heart Spin.
I also added in some trees from My Favorite Things's 'Tis the Season. As my medium I chose watercolours and I did some no line colouring. I added in some details with pencils and for the bird legs, the whiskers and the skaters I used a very fine tipped pen.
The backgroud was a little bit difficult for me. I wanted to do some ink blending but couldn't decide on a colour. I tried pinks, violetts and turquoise but I didn't like any of that. Then I combined pink and turquoise and added a LOT of water. But there was still something missing. i watered down some white gesso and spritzed it on the paper to create some snow.
For the sentiment (it is hard to see in the photo) I chose one from Mama Elephant's Jingle Greetings and heat embossed it in silver.
