Distress Inks and Glossy Photo Paper-Mixed media cards.

Hey there, Terri here! Today I am sharing something a little different, Mixed Media cards! Do you love the look of Alcohol Inks but dont own them? Do you like the look of Gelli Plate print but haven't purcahsed one yet? Well, I'm sharing a way that you can achieve thoses looks using dye ink pads and glossy photo paper!

For this technique you can use and Dye based ink pad, I chose to use Distress Ink Pads but have also use my Altenew ones before. I start by cutting some Glossy photo paper to A5, I work on my glass mat as it's then easy to clean. I smoosh the ink onto my glass mat, spritz with water and then use a piece of acetate to dab into the ink and transfer it to the photo paper.

I usually use 3 colour per design but you can play till your hearts content. You can also crate a reisit before you dd the ink by tapping an embossing ink through a stencil. I let these fully dry before moving on to the next step.

I then use Altenew's Floral Shadow Stamp Set along with Stazon Pigment Ink Pad to add a design. The pigment ink works best as it is wetter and your stamp then doesnt try to stick to the photo paper... You will either need to heat set it or leave it to dry. You could sprinkle with embossing powder and heat set!

Next I emboss a piece of card using the Motif Tile 3D Embossing Folder, I then rub over the surface with an ink that matches the background I made. I then swipe a second time but use the Stazon Pigment Ink Pad, it gives a grungy effect as it doesn't hit the same spots the second time.

I mount the embossed panel onto an A2 card base and add the inky backgroung, I added a small black matted layer for high contrast. Using the Label Love Add-On Stamp Set, I stamped 3 of sentiments and added them onto the card using foam pads. I created 2 versions of the same design only chaning the colours to show how different it can look.

Top Tip -  If you dont like the Glossy look, you can add a layer of Matt Medium over the design once dry.
