Faux Rub-On Technique

Faux Rub-On Technique

I've had another go at a video technique for today's card so hop on over to our TikTok account and give us a follow and you'll see how I made this card  Seven Hills Crafts on TikTok

For this technique I used Altenew's Metallic Watercolor Paints to create a version of a rub-on wax.   If you don't have waxes in your stash, then using any highly pigmented watercolor paint and letting it get nice and creamy gives you a product that works in the same way as a rub-on wax.  Just use your finger an rub gently over the raised areas of any Embossing Folder to highlight the parts you want.

Use the same paint to edge your panel and you've got a super-shimmery card in no time at all.   As I said on the video I think my colour combo could have taken this card down the Christmas card route - gold and green is very festive, but I also thought it would be good for an anniversary card too so I added a couple of sentiments from MFT's Essential Sentiment set and embossed it in gold powder to tie all the colours together.

Hope that's given you a new technique to try and hope my videos are a little less shadowy now we've got better lighting!

Thanks

Tara
