Jug of Flowers

Jug of Flowers

Sorry the blog post is very late today - we're a house in quarantine as we've been hit by norovirus so we're lacking energy at the moment.   I have managed to do a tiny bit of crafting today though - I made myself a get well card!  I used MFT's Freshly Picked Die set as my main element.

I die cut all the elements from water colour card and then simply sloshed on some paint using my Altenew paints.  I really didn't use any artistic skill here, I just flooded the elements with colour.  Once dry, I added some darker colours to areas and then layered the pieces up.   I die cut a second jug to pop behind for depth.

I always like to frame single images on CAS cards whether with a die cut frame, stamped shape or even a few handrawn lines as to me it can make all the difference between an image dropped on the front and a cohesive design.  Frames draw your eye to the focal point.  For this one I opted for a stamped frame using Altenew's Geo Frames stamp.

NEWS FROM THE STORE

We will be working tomorrow but not a full pelt - we are past the contagious stage now so there is no risk to us packing orders but we are left with the exhaustion that follows with this virus.  We'll do our best but we will be slower than normal this week.

We do expect some stock arrivals this week:

  • We have the latest release from Hero Arts - the main catalogue - and it's a biggie so it will take a few days to process, bear with us;

  • We have paid for the latest release from Altenew but they have not yet shipped it - hopefully we'll get it this week;

  • We should also have the upcoming release from Colorado Craft Company by the end of the week.

We do have ongoing issues with the new store - namely issues with stock levels resetting themselves.  We have now identified part of what is causing it - but until we are confident of a stable fix we can't start the process of manually checking ALL our stock to ensure it matches physical stock levels.  This is a HUGE undertaking and we only want to do it once.   The stock levels are having knock-on effects to the other parts of the store but we are confident once this is all sorted it will be much better all around - the joys of technology.  Again - bear with us - we're trying to make things as normal as we can for you whilst we work on things in the background.  We appreciate your support.

Right, time for another nap......
