Polar Opposites

Jen here and I decided to break out the Water Colours (using this fabulous vibrant set of colours from Altenew) for todays cards.
I started by cutting some water colour card stock to the right size and stamping the super cute images from Polar Opposites from MFT using Versafine Clair nocture black ink.
For one of the cards I losely masked off the images and stamped the Snowflake Flurry Background (sorry out of stock but add a notification) at the top and added embossing powder. I cleaned off any powder I didnt want around the image before heat embossing.
I then used my blending brushes and added distress ink in prize ribbon being careful to not catch the images. On the one not heat embossed i added flicks of water and some silver metallic paint splatters too.
Once that was done and dry I watercoloured in the characters very simply. I love the vibrant colours in the Altenew set and you just dont seem to get these from other brands.
I finished the cards off with a sentiment from the set heat embossed on black card stock and added a few gems to the snowflakes.
Was nice to try something out of my comfort zone this week and I'll be watercolouring more now for sure.
Hope you have a great Saturday
Jen xx
