Going Green

Going Green

There really only one colour I could use on the blog today right?  Green things appear everywhere on the 17th March - green rivers, green fountains, green cocktails - so I've gone with a green on green card, just using a stencil and green ink pads.

I missed out on the Layered Triangles Stencil first time around but now we have restocks I get to play.  I love the graphic nature of this stencil and here I just used the two layers first as intended in different green shades of oxide inks.  Once I'd done the two layers overlapping as the stencils guides show you, I cleaned them off, and then just used indiviudally triangles and lines to add more pattern on top.   You can get really creative with the shapes and colour combos so this little stencil packs a big punch!    I left a little gap in the middle to add a suitable sentiment - this card doesn't have to be for St Patrick's Day despite the colour inspiration - it would be great for a guys birthday or even for a wedding or anniversary where the wedding colour scheme was green.

If you are out to celebrate St Patrick's Day then have a good one and raise a glass of the black stuff for me!
