Spring Flowers

Spring Flowers

Hey there, Terri here! It's been a weird week here in the UK! We've had Snow, Rain, Sunshine and Gale force winds... I think I'm in need a bit of spring time to cheer me up, so I decide to create a floral card using spring colours.

I decided to use Altenew's Flowers and Petals Layering Stencils, this set has 4 stencils which layer easily. I worked on Neenah 80lb Solar white cardstock and used small blending brushes to add the ink through the stenils. I picked out 2 green shades and two pink shades from the Spring Bouquet Oval Ink Pads  and a medium Yellow shade from Pocketful of Sunshine Oval Ink Pads.

I added a lighter shade for the base layers and then a darker shade for the details. I then added some stickles to the centre of the flowers and set this aside to dry.

Next I used the XOXO & More Die Set to cut my sentiment, I used black for the detailed layer and a light pink for the shadow layer. I thought that adding the sentiment to a vellum scalloped circle for give a softer look. I then added some stickles to the edge of the scalloped circle and allowed it to dry.

I trimmed the stnecil panel to measure 2.25" by 5.5" and then matted it on to a pice of black card measuring 2.5" by 5.5". This was then added to a white A2 card base usig foam pads. I then added the sentiment to the scalloped circled and then onto the card using silicone Glue.
