A Winter Scene

A Winter Scene

Snowy Winter scenes look lovely and cosy on Christmas cards... theyre not alwys practical in real life so lets enjoy this one through rose tinted glasses....

I've used the rather adorable buildings and trees from the new Reverse Confetti stamp set called Home for the Holidays, looking at the images it doesnt have to be for Christmas so I've gone with a winter themed card. The card is a bridge design which lays flat for posting and opens up to show the scene you've created.

I started by stamping all the images, and a few extra trees, to colour and cut out using the coordinating dies. One of the taller buildings can be cut in half to make a smaller shop and house which you can see up on the hill. I decided to cut the houses out along the stamped lines as I prefered the look for this card but I left the trees with a white edge from the die... I wasnt going to use scissors on those!!

I then made the folded card base following instructions on Jennifer Mcguire's video here. I used a cloud stencil to make the sky and then cut a shallow snowbank for the buildings in the foreground to sit on. I found repositionable tape very helpful whilst I figured out where to place the buildings...... I made two extra snowy layers so I could add more houses and an extra tree.

When I was happy with everything I took all the layers apart and then stamped the sentiments before using glue to attach the buildings and reassembling the card. I'm really pleased how it turned out and I have a few houses and trees left over for another card too :)

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
