Well, the summer holidays have started and the British weather has done it's usual trick but I'm still channeling those sunny summer vibes over a rippling swimming pool for this weeks card....

I've had the Perfect Pool Water stencil for a while and thought it needed to be used!! I followed the tutorial on the MFT You Tube channel here and used a pale blue cardstock as my starting base then blended Hero Arts Cornflower blue ink on top, rotating the stencil four times. The sentiment is inspired by the Avery Elle Splash set, which is where the rather glamourous lady comes from too....

To make the wording I used Waffleflower Cutaway alpha dies and taped them to the panel before running them through my Bigshot. The spacing worked well as these letters are tall and skinny. To make the 'and' I had to find a similar, smaller alpha so I used the Birdie Brown set which are currently out of stock but you could easily substitute any other alpha instead. All I had to do then was add the lovely lady on her pineapple floatie in place of the 'O'

I really love this stencil, it does look like the rippling water of a pool and of course you can use it for other textures too by changing the colour you use and not rotating it.
