It's a RAWR-y Dino-mite Birthday!

Hello, Tallie here with a duo of bright and happy birthday cards. Mixed with a couple of stash favourites, the Avery Elle RAWR dino-themed stamp set is perfect for creating birthday cards for little boys (or anyone who loves a dinosaur or two!). The first design is more CAS (Clean and Simple), with a cluster of images in the centre of a white card base. I created a prehistoric scene with the different elements for the second card to make use of the extra images I coloured.

For the first CAS card, I started out with the background, using a 3inch custom mask I created from a panel of acetate to blend on some Distress Oxide ink in Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean to create a gradient background. For the second scene card, I inked up one background panel with Faded Jeans/Salty Ocean and one with Twisted Citron/Mowed Lawn. I cut them both using a Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle die and used a Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside border die to create some grassy hills to ground the dinosaurs.

With the background set aside to dry, I stamped out the two dino images with their hats the Avery Elle RAWR stamp set onto some blending cardstock using some MFT Extreme Black ink. I coloured these up with my alcohol markers, sticking to bright primary colours. To help create the scene, I stamped out multiples of the two leaves from the Lawn Fawn Critters in the Jungle stamp set and coloured these in with some bright green markers. I cut these out using the coordinating dies.

I assembled both scenes, using a mix of foam tape and glue to give some dimension. For the sentiments, I used a mix of products: words from the Avery Elle RAWR stamp set, speech bubbles from the Avery Elle Speech Bubbles set and a Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banner die.

A few touches of white gel pen and a layer of Wink of Stella finish off these cards!

These are great simple designs that would work with many different stamp sets. Give it a try!
