Masculine card using Polka Dot Buds

Masculine card using Polka Dot Buds

Hey there, Terri here! Today I am sharing a masculine card using a retro floral stencil! Full disclosure, this design actually came about by accident. I had ink blended my background, added it to a card and realised I had the card blank around the wrong way, this meant that the opening was on the wrong side... when I turned it around I liked how the pattern looked and thought it would be perfect for a male card.

I started by ink blending onto super smooth white card using the Polka Dot Buds Layering Stencil and 3 ink pads. I chose a bright green, Purple and Blue. I used the Mini Blending Brushes from Altenew to do this. They are small enough to be percise and very soft. I started with the Purple, blending into blue and then to Green. I then used a black ink for what would be the leaf and stem section.

I trimmed th background and matted it onto black card before adding it on an A2 card base. (This is where I realised it was the wrong way around) I inked some white card using the same inks as used for the stencilling. I then die cut the sentiment using the Just Amazing Die Set. I cut it 3 times, once from each colour. I then cut the shadow layer from black card and the main section from silver Glitter Cardstock. I added the letters into the glittery outline, which was adhered to the black shadow layer and then  added a layer of Glossy Accents on top.

Once dry I added the sentiment to the card using foam pads. At this point I decided to add  Glossy Accents into the centre of the polka dots. I love how the background looks like moustaches and eyeballs...or is it just me that sees that?
