No Stitch Stitching Dies

No Stitch Stitching Dies

I've got a couple of fun stitchless stitch die cards to share today.  I do love to stitch, embroidery was one of my first crafts, so I am looking forward to stitching some of the fabulous new dies from the Waffle Flower Crafts but for those of you who aren't into stitching, I wanted to share some ways they can be used without a single stitch!

For the first card - I used the widest ZigZag from the Stitchable Zigzags Die and die cut it from a strip of white card which I stuck to the bottom of my base card.

I created a fun rainbow by simply using very sharp pencil crayons and colouring the holes in rows of rainbow colours.

To balance the rainbow I added another strip of card covered in narrow rainbow washi tape from Altenew split over the zigzag.   Finished with a sentiment from the Stitched Sentiments Stamp which is designed to go with all the stitchable dies.

If colouring in all those little holes is too much faff (it did take a good few minutes) then how about just backing the holes with coloured card?

On this card I opted for a 2-tone to match the colours of my stamped image so I used some dark teal card with gold strips and simply stuck that on the inside of my card to conceal the holes inside and show a pretty pattern on the outside of my top fold card.

For the focal image I used the new Knight-Owl stamp from Newton's Nook - I LOVE a punny sentiment, and I really like this one as it's simple and fun and versatile.  I'll be sending this to someone due to go into hospital as a protection card.

I think the border dies would be really pretty just as holes too, you could stack them so the borders repeat up the card for a whole background too.

Hope that inspires you to try some non-stitch-stitching too!.

NEWS FROM THE STORE

  • The latest release from Newton's Nook stamps went live on Friday including the stamp and die I used today as well as lots of other great sets for autumn, halloween and for book lovers;

  • We got the July and August releases from Colorado Craft Company on Friday too and I'm working on adding those today;

  • We have some Mama Elephant restocks that will in stock today too - they came with their brand new release which is packed full of fab winter and Christmas sets, but we can't release those until the 15th September.  Keep an eye on their socials for peeks in the coming weeks!

  • The August releases from Altenew have also shipped - including the wax seals, stamps, dies, stencils and monthly florals.

  • The MFT vault release has shipped along with a lot of restocked dies.  99% of the stamps we tried to buy were out of stock on their end.   As with most brands, restocks are hard to come by right now as brands and factories are at reduced socially distanced capacity so many are concentrating on the "new" over the old.

  • We have a pretty substantial Lawn Fawn restock order shipping next week ahead of their Christmas release which should be here for release on the 10th September;

  • We also have the brand new Hero Arts winter catalogue shipping next week with quite a few restocks too.

That's all for this week.

Happy Crafting
