Owl Love and Envelopes

Owl Love and Envelopes

I've been having fun with new stash on the blog today.  If you've been a regular reader then you'll know that Stamping Bella was my first stamp crush, so I can't resist their releases and this latest one is no exception.  I've picked a few I want to play with but the Special Delivery stamp as the owl carrying the envelope gave me the ideal focal image for an envelope themed shaker card using new Waffle Flower stash too!

I started with the background - I die cut the Small Envelopes die from Waffle Flower several times from white card and stuck them randomly over an A2 (USA) sized teal card base.   I gave the envelopes a shimmery blue coating with watercolour paint to match the sequins I'll add later.  To make the shaker element I used one of the brilliant A2 Shaker Covers from Waffle Flower - these are genius - they cover the whole of the card front with a shaker cover!   I just added some of the new Spring Rain Sequins from The Greetery and we've got ourselves a shaker!

To create my focal point, I stamped the owl using versafine clair in nocturne and then coloured with the new woodless watercolour pencils from Altenew (which will be in store in a day or so)   I fussy him and popped him on a black circle to make him pop.  I added a sentiment using the Pre-Text sentiments from The Greetery and finished using a rectangle die to create a frame to pull it all together.

The covers certainly take all the fuss out of shaker card making so I'll be making a lot more in the future!

Catch you on Sunday.

Tara
