Shimmer and Shine

Shimmer and Shine

Good morning, it’s Deborah here with you today. No Christmas cards in sight today. I’ve made a quick set of three cards all using products from Concord & 9th. I’ve used C&9 Everyday Tintables Card fronts for all the cards – they make it so easy to do quick cards.

First is a bright, bold, birthday card. I blended bright yellow and bright pink inks over the dotty card front, spritzed on a sparkle spray and, once dry, I used the Concord & 9th Confetti Card die to cut out the panel to fit the front of an A2 (US size) notecard. I added one of the tiny greetings from C&9 Stripes & Sayings in black in the bottom corner and adhered this to the notecard. I finished the front by adding a flutter of butterflies. I used C&9’s Butterfly Perfect Pairing die to cut the butterflies once from silver holographic card and twice in white card. I adhered them together to give dimension and stability to the butterflies and adhered them to the card.

Inside the card, I cut a mat layer of bright pink card. On the white panel I stamped a bold birthday greeting from C&9’s Everyday Greetings in bright pink and used the tiny sun burst stamp in bright yellow. I finished by adding one of the tiny silver holographic butterflies that was waste from the die cut.

My next card uses the word panel from Everyday Tintables. I used an acid lemon, lime green, and grass green to blend over the panel and reveal the words. In real-life you can easily see the words, but they don’t show up too well in the photo. Next time I'll use darker colours! I spritzed the card panel with a shimmer spray and, once dry, used the Confetti Card die to cut out the card and adhered it direct to an A2 notecard.

Inside, I cut a piece of green card for the mat layer and on the white panel I simply stamped a bold greeting in lime green. The greeting comes from C&9’s Everyday Greetings.

My last card is a fun hello card. I blended shades of blue ink over the chevron Tintable Card front, spritzed it with a shimmer spray and, once dry, used the Confetti Card die to cut out a piece for the front of an A2 card. I used the ‘hello’ die from the Everyday Sayings die set to cut a shadow layer of black card and three white hello dies. I layered the white hello pieces together, glued them to the black shadow and adhered it to the front of the card.

Inside, I cut a piece of white card slightly smaller than the note card. I edged the piece with a dark grey Copic marker and stamped a greeting from C&9’s Shine On stamp set. I also added a few sparkles from Shine On in pale blue ink.

That’s all from me today. See you again next week.

Deborah, x
