Thank you Mr Postman!

Thank you Mr Postman!

Morning! It’s Deborah here with you today. I can’t quite believe it’s already February, days seem to take ages to go by, and then I find a month has gone by in a blink of an eye! Anyway, I’m here today with some postal themed projects. Here’s my first card:

I think you all know that I just love Concord & 9th’s turnabout stamps. The Postmarked Turnabout stamp is just fantastic and it’s so easy to use. I cut a piece of white card 6” square and, using my stamp positioner, I stamped the image four times to make a bold, bright background. I cut it down to 5¼” square and layered it on a 5½” square of black card. I adhered the whole lot to the front of a square card. I used the large rectangle “postage stamp” die from Snail Mail dies to cut two pieces, one black and one white. I used the large ‘Hello’ stamp from All the Hellos, carefully inking each letter and stamping them to match the background, then I layered the scripty ‘Hello’ in black over the top. I used the dotted line as a guide to cut out the word, layered it onto the black “postage stamp” and glued to the centre of the card.

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Type Talk along with a diagonal pattern and sentiment from Postmarked Turnabout onto white card. I layered the panel onto black card and adhered it inside the card. I also decorated an envelope to match:

While I had the turnabout stamp in my positioner, I stamped another panel this time using only two colours.

I cut a piece to 4¼” x 5½” and glued it to the front of an A2 (US size card). I cut a piece of white card 3¼” x 4½” and adhered it on top of the patterned background. I used the small square “postage stamp” die from Snail Mail dies to cut a gold postage stamp and the little heart die to cut a black heart which I glued to the “stamp”. I added some gold shimmer to the heart and a layer of glossy accents and left it to dry. Meanwhile, I cut a strip of black card and stamped a birthday greeting from Concord & 9th’s Tiny Tagalong stamp set in white ink. I adhered the strip to the card and added the gold stamp.

On the inside, I stamped a large birthday greeting from Type Talk, added a few hearts to match the front and finished the panel with little gold diagonal strips – this stamp is one of the extras in the Postmarked Turnabout stamp set. I layered the panel on black card and glued it inside.

I had a small strip of card left-over and decided to use it to make one more card.

I adhered the strip to the bottom of an A2 card and added a thin strip of black card above it. I stamped the little snail from Concord & 9th’s Snail Mail stamp set – it’s a two-step image. I stamped the outline in black and added the body in pale teal and the shell in burgundy. I used the co-ordinating snail die from the Snail Mail die set to cut him out. I stamped a snail trail in black ink above the thin black card, adhered the snail and finished the front by stamping the ‘Hi!’ sentiment from Snail Mail in bold black ink. The inside has been left blank for my own message.

When I got the turnabout stamp, I also got the Mini Post Envelope die. This die cuts an envelope and the liner. I made a mini white envelope and card. Once folded the mini envelope measures 4” x 2¾. This makes a sweet little card and it’s also a good size as an embellishment for larger cards. I used a piece of scrap design paper for the liner. To make the card, I simply cut a piece of white card 3¾” x 2½”, used a corner rounder and added a rainbow and greeting from Concord & 9th’s Brighter Days stamp set.

That was a lot – thanks for sticking with me to the end. See you all again next week. Keep safe.

Deborah, x
